Currently we have 79 aircraft at home and 15 reported outlandings. The weather was good on the first day of competition. Only the stronger headwind on the south arm of the track checked the tactical and pilot skills of the competitors. The same wind, on the contrary, was well used on the northern part of the track, as it blowe to the eastern slopes of Vtáčnik and Mala Fatra. We are waiting impatiently for the total results that will be known after uploading and processing data from all loggers.
Several club-class pilots already arrived back to our airport, and we are expecting a glider from other classes any minute. You can view a more accurate status of individual aircrafts in our competition monitor or track their real position through the OGN network on the glidernet site.
The starts ended just before the fourteenth hour. The last one to start was the CAR of the combined class. Take-offs took place without complications, despite the strong strokes of the wind from the east, so it was blown perpendicular to the track. According to the words of several towing pilots "it was a a rough fight". From the mountain Vtáčnik was formed a wave and take-offs ran through a rotor, which reached into small altitudes just above the ground. Respect and thanks to all the towing pilots!
