New Conditions for entry into the Slovak Republic from 9 JulyPublished: 06.07.2021 10:50
Preventive measures applicable to all persons entering the territory of the Slovak Republic are stipulated in the Decree of the Public Health Authority (pdf; 328.47 KB).
Information of the Public Health Office:
Definition of a fully vaccinated person
- at least 14 days and at most 12 months after the second dose of the two-dose vaccine,
- at least 21 days and at most 12 months after administration of a single dose vaccine
- not less than 14 days and not more than 12 months after the first dose of the vaccine, if given within 180 days of the onset of COVID-19,
- after the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine with a single-dose or double-dose schedule (immediately after the first dose) - temporarily until 9 August
In addition to the digital COVID EU card or the certificate of vaccination in Slovakia, it is also possible to prove it with certificates from other countries. The condition is that this confirmation is in Slovak, Czech or English.
Registration at the e-border
Every person who enters the territory of the Slovak Republic from 9 July 2021 must register at http://korona.gov.sk/ehranica. Children under 12 years of age and persons transiting through the territory of Slovakia (defined below) do not have to register.
It is necessary to register every time you enter the territory of the Slovak Republic.
This does not apply to:
- fully vaccinated, for whom the first registration is valid for the next 6 months
- persons after being vaccinated with the first dose of any vaccine - these persons will have their first registration until 9 August
- persons from 12 to 18 years of age, for whom the first registration is valid until 9 August
- persons traveling for diagnosis or treatment, for whom the first registration is valid for 1 week
One registration is enough until September 1:
- persons who have a permanent or temporary residence in Slovakia and a place of work in neighboring countries, EU countries or Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein or Switzerland, having visited only these countries in the last 14 days and traveling only for work
- have a permanent residence or stay in the countries of the European Union, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein or Switzerland and in the case of Ukraine within 100 km of an open border crossing point, place of work in the Slovak Republic and travel only for work
- citizens of the Slovak Republic who live in the border areas of neighboring states up to 100 km from the open border crossing.
Quarantine
All persons who enter the territory of the Slovak Republic from 6:00 on 9 July are obliged to go to the quarantine, which will end on the 14th day if tested without symptoms.
Quarantine can be completed with a negative RT-PCR test, which can be performed on day 5 at the earliest.
Children under the age of 12 do not need to be tested, their quarantine ends when they are members of the same household.
The quarantine also applies to members of the common household who have not traveled - it ends when the other members.
Quarantine is not required for:
- fully vaccinated people
- persons from 12 to 18 years of age, if no one else in the common household has a mandatory quarantine - temporarily until 9 August
- persons who cannot be vaccinated for health reasons; they must submit a confirmation according to the model in the annex to the decree, at the same time they must have a negative RT-PCR test result not older than 72 hours
- unvaccinated citizens of the Slovak Republic who have a permanent or temporary residence in the border areas of a neighboring state within 100 km from the open border crossing to the territory of the Slovak Republic - must submit a negative RT-PCR test result not older than 7 days
- unvaccinated persons who have had an exception so far, such as aircraft crews, trains, truck drivers, funeral workers and others, the exact list and possible need to prove the negative result of the COVID-19 test is laid down in a decree; these people still have to register at the e-border
